“THE FACE OF FURRY CREEK” TV SERIES AND ONLINE DIGITAL COMPANION TO DEBUT JUNE 3^rd, 2013.

Toronto, Ontario – May 13th, 2013:  MKW Productions, with the participation of OUTtv Network and the Bell New Media Fund, are pleased to announce the release of television series and online companion project The Face of Furry Creek beginning Monday, June 3^rd, 2013 9pm ET/PT on OUTtv Network and www.faceoffurrycreek.com.

Created by comedy writer, producer and actor Mark Kenneth Woods, the scripted comedy series follows a mountain community on the brink of bankruptcy. When Furry Creek’s own Channel 12 holds a $25,000 contest to find “the face” of their town’s new tourism campaign, 5 desperate candidates compete, lie and cheat their way to becoming “The Face of Furry Creek”.

Parodying every reality show from “Housewives” to “Dance Moms”, the financially-troubled citizens of Furry Creek, all played by Mark Kenneth Woods, Michael Venus, Amy Goodmurphy and Ryan Steele in multiple roles and genders, jump at the chance to audition and compete for the $25,000 prize. In each episode, the selected contestants are asked to create various digital media that will then be posted on our new media companion project www.faceoffurrycreek.com. 

Designed as the fictitious Channel 12 contest website, each week the audience will have access to website-exclusive digital media that they have seen the characters work towards in the television series. All for free. Contest task results take the form of pictures, blog entries, videos, social media musings and more, and will be posted daily during the series’ initial television run. Additionally, the website experience will offer weekly recap videos, exclusive interviews with the contestants, lost audition tapes, daily Furry Creek news and a ridiculous reunion special. The online digital experience is now live at www.faceoffurrycreek.com with trailers, bios and teasers.

The television series will air Mondays at 9pm ET/PT on OUTtv Network in Canada beginning June 3^rd, 2013 with the related digital media being posting during each new weekly episode. News on US and other territory broadcasts is expected soon.

Mark Kenneth Woods‘ series The Face of Furry Creek isn’t just a TV series. It’s also an “experience”, or online digital companion project if you prefer. And the two compliment each other nicely if we do say so ourselves.

You see, each week in the TV show, the contestants have to create digital media. Audition videos, blogs, vlogs, PSA’s and stuff like that. You’ll get a taste of what they make in the TV show but you’ll need to go to the website to see them all. There, you’ll also find episode recaps, exclusive interviews with the contestants, bios and you can even vote for your fave contestant. And most of the contestants look a whole lot like Mark Kenneth Woods and Michael Venus. Hmm.

We will be posting tons of additional media during the broadcast of the TV series beginning Monday, June 3rd 9pm et/pt on OUTtv.

Mark Kenneth Woods‘ brand new series The Face of Furry Creek will be taking over RuPaul’s Drag Race‘s time slot on OUTtv Network in Canada Mondays 9pm et/pt beginning June 3rd, 2013!

Starring Woods and Michael Venus, the show will have an original first season run of 6 episodes complimented by the upcoming faceoffurrycreek.com digital media project, designed as the contest website within the plot of the television series, with additional media “made by” the fictional characters in each weekly episode.

If you have OUTtv, you’ve probably seen the wee short version of Mark‘s interview with the winner of Season 4 of RuPaul’s Drag Race, Sharon Needles. It’s only been airing after every episode of the current season of RuPaul’s Drag Race! Yikes. But now you can watch the longer MKW edit at just over 5 minutes.

Mark had the pleasure of interviewing her for OUTtv and Outlook TV during her tour’s Toronto stop where they chatted about life after Drag Race, her baby Alaska Thunderf*ck (who is on the current season) and, of course, “why do you think you are nuts”. Happy Halloween!
